Schnoll and Yankauer House, Brooklyn, NY
Schnoll and Yankauer House: This was an interior design and renovation of an 1860s brownstone in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. The parlor floor, and second and third floors were significantly reworked. The parlor floor was originally broken up into three rooms. We opened up the space, including opening up the wall to the stair. The kitchen was redone, and a new deck was added to the back. Both bathrooms on the upper floors were renovated. The improvemens included new windows throughout, increased insulation on the roof, and additional insulation on the addition on the rear of the building. We replaced the existing low efficiency boiler and hot water, and installed radiant heating in the kitchen, and central air conditioning throughout the house. These mechanical upgrades improved the building's energy performance and significantly improved the owner's comfort. PDF
